Son retard de croissance attribué à une condition médicale n'a pas empêché l'ex-recruteur des Predators, Kyle Woodlief, de déclarer ceci :
« Si Lane Hutson avait été deux pouces plus grand et vingt livres plus lourd au repêchage, il aurait été sélectionné Top-3. » - Kyle Woodlief
.Actuellement à 5'10" et 160 livres, Hutson progresse, se rapprochant de Celebrini, mesurant 6'0".
